Chris Salis: How My Time at SAP Went?

You guys know that I have a knack for sharing my perspective, my life experiences, and more. And given that I have got a great response from my followers on the internet – here I am, your one and only Chris Salis with another day of sharing my past experiences with you.

Today, I’ll talk more about my SAP career. I want to share more about how things went when I was part of SAP back in the day. So, I guess – you guys are up for a ride.

My time at SAP has been defined by many (my peers, my family, or my friends) as one of the most successful times in my career. I won’t be too talky about this but what is true is true – I have made quite some significant amount of contributions when I was at SAP.

But before joining SAP, there was a part of my life that came into everybody’s life, and that’s education. During those times, I went to Purdue University to complete my studies.

As soon as I finished getting my degrees, I went on to get into the work side of things and immediately bagged lucrative jobs from companies such as eBay, BusinessObjects, and more.

However, the real game started when I got into SAP. That’s when things got interesting. It was in 2006 that I joined SAP as a senior manager of strategic sourcing and procurement. And that’s when my story of embracing challenges and turning those challenges into opportunities started.

When I joined SAP, things weren’t that bright, or say SAP wasn’t that much of a humongous company. But what I saw was that there’s potential and if we work as a team, we will for sure someday take SAP to newer heights. The first crucial role that I played there was getting SAP’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) software solution developed and deploying it so that it could revolutionize business operations and resource management. And, guess what? – it did.

To be straightforward, I focused more on technical expertise and leadership part when I was at SAP. And, thank god, I did because doing that has allowed me, or say allowed the entire team to bring in the groundbreaking success that SAP was clamoring for a long time.

The end goal was always in my mind while I worked at SAP, which was to lead SAP to a stage where it should be recognized as the leading business software solutions provider in the entire world. Today, SAP is a renowned name. It’s international more than ever.

I’d be honest with you guys man – what got me driven was my knack to remain committed to excellence and innovation. And while being innovative, I always believe in advocating more for cutting-edge technologies. And, it’s obvious – it must be done, given how fast the tech world of today is moving.

In the end, it’s all good – SAP, today, is one of the best companies out there that offers cutting-edge tech solutions and is helping a plethora of businesses to stay ahead of the curve in their industries.
And ending note – whenever I look back on my days at SAP – there’s nothing but a smile on my face.
